right ok,

after the hassle i have had with my car lately i go to drop the roof on saturday as it was a nice day and as i press the button......nothing!!!!

i have checked the relays and so has markyboy.

if i take the green cover off the relays and press it manually the roof will go up or down depending what relay it is, for example

the relay for down, take green cover off and press the little metal bit down and the roof pump kicks in and works.....

also tested the relays off the battary and they click just as they are supposed to...

but still no action from the button, i have changed the fise so i know that its not that!!!!!

please help im stumped by it and getting really anoyed with it lol

Daft as this may sound, but are you trying the switch with the ignition at satge 1.. rather than stage 2 woth the dashlights all on

hi, ive wired plenty of power hoods in the past, i dont use the complete loom only the rear part with the 2 green relays, the rest isnt necessary unless you want it all working through the ignition, i always wire mine permanent so you can operate the roof wenever, sod turning the engine off first lol.

i have a loom at work and i know where all the wires go,il have a look for you and let you know where the blue one goes...

thought it was position "0" for roof to work, poisiton "2" is engine running. come to think you did have your dash lights on last night when you were trying.

i know yours is mk6 rambo, but its still the 4 relay loom (there are 3 relay looms around as well.

we know you got power through the contacts but the coils are not pulling in.

i cant remember which wires i testd last night, but Im sure I measured power to the coil when switch was not pressed, which seems wrong.

Last night where I could not get an earth from the back of the coil could have been because you had ignition on, anything other than position "0" breaks the coil - chassis wire through the saftey relay.

hope you sort it.

try the bk/bl wire to earth, that will bypass the ignition relay. cant make out on drawing if its 85 or 86 anyway its the one with the C in a triangle.

I have had a few of these in the past where the switch has stopped operating the roof but the 12v + was still there and pressing in the relays manually made the roof work, , and on the ones i have sorted out, it was a case of putting one of the wires from the switch directly to earth, problem is i cant remember the colour of the cable that i shorted to earth, i will see what it is on my mk6 because i had to do it on this one as well quite recently..

hi, ive wired up my power hood today on my mk3 cab! ive done plenty, i only use the rear part of the loom with the 2 green relays and wire the rest myself its easy! assuming your mk6 uses the same loom (cant see why it wouldnt) i can tell you how to do it if you like?

you should have 3 wires on the switch? yellow, blacl/green, black/blue. is your the same?
