Faulty Wishbones

somebody please help me i have an m reg 1.8si cabriolet regestered feb 1995, i have had 2 new sets of wishbones in the the last 8 wks the last set 4 wks back less than 1000 miles ago, took it to mot last monday for it to fail on them as i knew they would as the car is like driving a death trap i am at my wits end with it a mechanic friend has had it on the ramps since yesterday and checked every inch of it and every thing seems fine we cant understand why there going so quicky they arnt genuine ford but come from a local respectable company never had any probs with them before, i have had the drop bar links done about 1 wk after the before the first set done it is lowered at the front but doesnt seem to be lowered at the back could it be i need new springs and shocks as it is a bit hard please some one help me i really need to get this sorted for the mot any advice gratefully recieved.....

hello adele if i were you i would take the wishbones back off knock the old rubber bushes out of the wishbone and replace them with poly ones that last bloody ages and sharpen up the handling and this should take care of your wishbone problem once and for all hope this helps you thanks eddie.

:icon_cry: Hello, you get what you pay for and the aftermarket wishbones are crap, last to the bottom of the road if your lucky.

 

Fit genuine ford components and they will last a lot longer.

 

Or do as Eddie says and fit polly bushes.........in the genuine arms, you can just fit the standard bushes (available from fords) instead of changing the complete wishbone as long as your lower ball joint is ok, again in the genuine arms.
