Guest scottishbob
Hi everyone, Im currently restoring/modifying a 1985 3i and rather than go the turbo or zetec route I fancy having a go at the v6 front wheel drive route. Guest scottishbob
just want to keep it oe as possible, try to use as many ford parts as poss. the v6 looks sweet in your engine bay, did u have to fabricate a lot of the mounts? what gearbox did you use? I know its possible to use the cvh box with the zetec.
escortcabrioletclub
well i think you need to go the zetec route ........... theres a lot of fabrication ie mounts slam pannel chassie and so on and only the mtx75 v6 gearbox fits the duratec v6 no other dose
Guest scottishbob
well i think you need to go the zetec route ........... theres a lot of fabrication ie mounts slam pannel chassie and so on and only the mtx75 v6 gearbox fits the duratec v6 no other dose I've no problems with fabricating the mounts etc as I run my own garage & have all the tools etc. Plus with all the other welding ie, floor pans, entire boot floor, rear lower quarter panels, both outer sills, one inner sill & minor chassis leg repairs, My welding & fabrication skills should be s**t hot by the time i come to getting an engine in there Is it worth the extra work over the zetec in your opinion?
