My Brakes Dont Work Much

hi guys and gals i have recently fitted the cosworth rear brake conversion and the rs turbo front brakes to my mk4 rst cabby thing is i have bled the brakes sevrel times and the brake pedel feels really bad and the brakes only work when your foot is pushed right down ive heard of them describe the pedel as spongey but this is crazy i have also took my master cylinder off before so could i have done some thing to that it also has braided hoses alround apart from one front one coz i messed it up lol ne info would be great cheers :biggrin:

it could be the amount of volume that is required to push the pots out in the calipers, as they should be larger

 

if it is that there isnt much that can be done other than a different master cylinder (i think)

most problems with the brake bleeding on cossie rear calipers is they don't bleed properly. you need to take them off and bleed them at the right angle to get the air out as it traps. i had the same problem, bleed bleed bleed and it was spongey and only really worked when hard to the floor.

 

mine eventually sorted itself out. also if you have taken your servo out, that might be another reason. there is a seal inside and if you pull out the plunger too far it will damage the seal and render it usless, well enough to cause you brake problems
