Guest Seren
Anyone ever installed a Sub into a Cab that wasn't in the boot? I need my bootspace for rock climbing gear, photography gear, kayaking gear... yadda yadda. Is there anyway to get a sub somewhere else that I haven't thought of? Is there anyway to get a sub somewhere else that I haven't thought of? yes.. but im afraid im not telling you.. reason being ive got something planned and i dont wanna let the cat out of the bag.. you could get a vibe plug item so you can unplug the amp and sub easily and remove themfrom the boot when loading everything else in.. Escort Cabriolet Club
Hi Seren, I have a Mk6 and it has holes cut into my back shelf, (The Metal Panel under where the roof goes down) it is not structural and i'm going to put twin 10" Subs in there !!! Here check out EGGSY cutting his shelf out !!! YouTube Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-o-zKso1H8
escortcabrioletclub
lots of ways depends what you want if your after big bass then no unless you take out the rear seats but kenwood do 6x9 subs that can be fitted under the front seats also theres some others that do bass shakers ie thay not tecnically a sub but a gyirow that shakes and gives a impresion of bass depending on size of sub used and mk of escort the doors will take a 8" free air sub hope it helps
Guest markeyboy
you could porbably get a sub tucked away in the passenger footwell, (assuming all ur friends have little legs lol) looked into it for my other halfs mgf
Guest Seren
Thanks for the ideas guys! I like the sound of putting them under the front seats, I'll investigate that one. Unfortunately the person who usually sits in the passenger seat is my boyfriend and he has very long legs, so that maybe rules that one out! Not keen on cutting holes in the shelf, I know you say it isn't structural, but I would worry that it was. Plus I don't want to let anyone have easy access to my boot - My photographing kit insurance is lower because there is no direct access to the boot and I wonder if having holes in the shelf would lower that? Plus I'm not ready to go slicing things up yet - a parcel shelf made of plastic maybe, but not a metal shelf!
Guest Eggsy
as daz said or try an infinity basslink as they are quite slim
Guest Alanman
It depends how many friends you have.......we only have one. Take the back seats out and replace with one seat. Loads of room for two big subs. lol

Guest Stokie
Me mate had an XR3i cab a while back, he couldn't be arsed to think of anything clever so he just boxed it up and stuck it on the middle seat in the back. Some obvious security issues in a cab but it sounded good :-D
