Guest steelcabby
17" inch will go on without any arch work if you have the right tire size and suspension
Guest steelcabby
i used G-MAX Supersport suspension kit with my 17"s and 205/40/17 tyres on the rims. get the right off-set wheels from your alloy dealer. i used two sets of this suspension in my time with 17"s and didn't rub one bit, even with a full load. oh and i did NO arch mods. people have there favorite suspension, like coil-overs. but they are expensive. so go for the cheaper option at 180.00 for a full set of G-MAX. or if money is no option then go for a 500 pound set of coil-overs. i know what i would go for Hope that helps mate CheeRS Edited February 18, 2008 by steelcabby

Guest steelcabby
BRAND NEW you say? your be lucky. there are plenty of s2 arch kits on ebay second hand for peanuts. they only to replica kits now and they are really s**t to fit. get second hand genuine for 20-30 pounds thats in really good nick on ebay mate. oh that kit lowers it about 35-40mm. and stiffens it up abit. you won't get 17"s on there without a suspension upgrade unless you mess with the arches. but if your like me and wanna keep your arches minted and free from future complications. then as i say. suspension kits are the way....or smaller wheels, its your choice and your wallet mate. Guest blackthorn
cool. thats a sweet ride. lovely colour. would you rekomend suspension before wheels then? iv always just got springs in the past but have had poor ride quality and id like to do it properley with the cab. cheeRs
Guest steelcabby
i'd get the suspension first and either fit it before you get the wheels if you like, or fit the wheels and suspension at the same time. if you have small wheels and you lower it you could be on the floor....lol. so you will need the extra hieght with the bigger wheels. unless you don't drive it up and down steep hills? escortcabrioletclub
also a 195/50/15 wheel and tyre will stand the same hight as a 205/40/17 depending on tyre the car will not be any lower with smaller wheels unless you go to 14/13 inch...... if you go with a 40mm ofset you will be safer in regards to not rubbing and suspention , i will say coilovers but then i have set the car up for fast road/track , but for standed everyday road car i would go with top ajustables as you can sofen the ride if not to your likeing ie being hard or make it hard if your doing a track day plus cheeper . hope that helps i do try lol
Guest steelcabby
Like i said mate, its down to whats in your wallet. the cheaper G-MAX kit was perfect for what i needed it for, had no issues with it etc etc. just depends how fussy you are, if your one of these people who have to have the best of everything, then buy expensive stuff, but if its for looks and a slightly better handling car then go for the cheaper option. cabriolets aren't built to be raced anyway, speacially around corners
