Guest really_mike
Hi ive finally fitted the induction kit to my escort zetec 1.8, sounds sooooo goood But i also fitted a performance exaust around a week ago and im wondering if i need to get the engine tuned, like the ECU to get more performance out of it with the aid of the induction kit an the exaust? Guest tom
uprated brakes - discs, pads, callipers, braided brake lines, then suspension properly set up we can all drive fast but stopping gets harder. and handling is as important as going fast
Guest markeyboy
i dont think theres to much ya can do with the ecu, i think it kinda looks after its self, got a simular set up on mine at the mo, decat should see ya some more power tho

Guest really_mike
following what 'eggsy' said about a turbo, arn't they expensive, plus a turbocharger would need alterations to the exaust pipes and i cant see that being cheap to install. also ive heard they need quite a bit of cooling too so thats more money for an intercooler? it would be good to make it faster but i want fast acceleration too. Guest Dazzaas
put a 2ltr throttle body and maf sensor on done that to mine makes the induction really ROAR love the noise it makes now
Guest Matt_Norwich
i found the best way to unlock some power with out too much messing or spending was: induction kit, back box, de cat, 4 branch manifold, 2L 136ps mondeo cam shafts throttle body and MAF, power boost valve(may have to replace the fuel pump for this depends on how tired it is) and a super chips module for the ecu. Ok not as quick as a turbo but put a smile on my face when i left my mates civic crx behind )
Guest ajs_20
Hi mate don't mean to sound harsh here but if its a late zetec in a Mk6 then remove it and put it back in the box! An aftermarket panel filter with extra cold air feed can gain just as much and I've proved that on 4 Zetecs. The 2.0 Throttle body and MAF are only worth it if you are goin to do the 2.0 cams which is where things start to cost a bit more. Decats do help but they often knacker Lambda sensors quick, mess up ya fuel settings and basically make it drink a hell of a lot more! Superchip is a good start, FSE powerboost may be worth a try and a manifold!
