Guest matt-the-dj
went to halfords i used the the code z72 that i got of the coloured vin plate with no match then used the long number off the vin plate with no match so ,what is the best way to get the colours or does anyone know the colours for a maroonish(could be red) and silver 92 spec dash. Guest markeyboy
id say your best bet would be to go to a propper car paint shop, they can usually bring up the colour on the vin or go out to ur car with their colour chart and pick from there. Guest mick_borthwick
yea they are pretty useless at halfords..they couldnt get mine (9X1), so I did the same and phoned the local ford dealer and give them the chassis number..bring it straight up then
Guest Justin
Hmm, Light Grape you say Matt? Well, ive got a mk5b, M plate, in light grape (actually says it is in the dealer cabriolet booklet that was around when my car first came out..) Light grape is a purple, not red.. Maybe the guy who gave you details was yanking your chain? or maybe the car has been resprayed?? It is always possible that they have the same name, though it seems unlikely for a red and a purple to have the same name!
Guest matt-the-dj
mmmmmmmmmmmmm i see your point, mine is a dash so it should be the colour appears to be? looks like ill be getting some colour charts out then,oh well. doesnt look like a respray , no evidence of an old colour , normally a bit gets missed.
