Guest swampy Posted October 3, 2007 Share Posted October 3, 2007 hi all. having recently got a 1.6 zetec i noticed it was behiving badley, sensors working when they wanted, sensors giving readings all over the place, idle was irratic etc so after reading about them onother car club sites and making one for my other car i made an extra earth kit up. this ran from the battery to another bolt on the gear box, one to the inlet manifold stud, one to the cam cover and one to the alternator this had the effect of making the idle more stable and the headlights brighter, these sorts of kit have being shown to increase bhp and torque and aid various other things, what are people thoughts on them?? escortcabrioletclub Posted October 3, 2007 Share Posted October 3, 2007 the idear or producing the kits is well silly unless you are going to sell cheep as theres 3 othere kits out there and on ebay and the reson thay work SOMETIMES is due to coroshion and andisation ...... most people that have any knolage would put some ends on a 8gauge wire and make there own to be honest theres so many cheep add bhp kits out there that i think most have given up geting 10bhp for a £1 idear lol Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest swampy Posted October 9, 2007 Share Posted October 9, 2007 Surely cleaning the existing earth points would have the same effect? it can have a similar effect but not to such an extent. i have a kit fitted to my 306 and the main battery ground lead broke and became dis attached, with the kit fitted i never noticed this until i was doing a service on the car. the running of the car was totaly unaffected, apart from the gains you get with the kit. these are now for sale on ebay Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
