f40 cab Posted October 3, 2007 Share Posted October 3, 2007 hi never done much with car ice systems before so thought i would start this year, got cheap amp to play with, but what does the gain dial do and where should i have it full ,half. ok and theres a boost switch on or off cant hear any difference . and theres a socket for high gain input what the hell do i put in there. lol. thank you. for your hep. Guest sjc Posted October 3, 2007 Share Posted October 3, 2007 if you want a quick rule of thumb for gain (if your using the amp for a sub).... put on some of your favourite usual music turn the stereo up 75%...ie if the volume goes to 30 put it around 22/23 increase the gain until the amp starts to loose control of the sub (distortion) turn it down a bit job done Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
