Guest daKlone
Has anyone done it? If so, what parts of the fuel system did you keep (if any) and what did you replace?

According to the specs in the Haynes book the MFI system is capable of delivering 1.4 litres per minute at 3.5 - 4.5 bar pressure, but doesn't have a pressure regulator. So it seems to me that I can keep the fuel tank, filter, pump and accumulator from the old MFI system, add a pressure regulator and that would do the trick. Am I missing something (probably blindingly obvious!!)?
escortcabrioletclub
Am I missing something (probably blindingly obvious!!)? well apart from one is mfi and one is efi ........... all you need to do fuel wise is put the pipe from your pump onto the zetec fuel rail and job done ...... Guest no2lurch
I knew that, smartass! :happy001: So I was right then...sweet! Thanks dude! :big_wave: surely if you take the whole mfi engine out, all you will be left with is the tank and pipes as the pump on mfi engines is bolted to the block aint it? therefore i think you'll need an efi tank as the pump is in the tank. oh, and tony is a smart ass because he has done most mods to cabs in the times that he has owned them. if tony cant help, chances are others cant. Guest turbosy
i thought the mechanical part came from it working off the engine... On a non injection engine the fuel pump is mounted on the head & is operated by a push rod off the cam! SY
