  1. Yes mate the spoiler is off a MK5, I have changed the boot lid which has a RS boot spoiler fitted which I got given to me.

I have looked all over the car & I was very surprised with the small amount of tin worm I found, so happy days not to much grinding & welding to be done - the main panel to be changed will be the front panel.

  2. Depending on how long the battery was disconnected, this may be of some use.

ECU will have been reset if the battery has been disconnected for more than 1 hour however, it then has to be driven for a minimum of 5 miles during which time full throttle operation must be used a number of times (2nd or 3rd gear is best) but there is no need to take it to the red line...just have your foot planted up to 4 or 5,000 rpm each time and then change gear. Also need to cruise at half throttle a number of times for as long as the road will allow...again 3rd gear is best at around 3,000 rpm.......and then accelerate flat out and change gear. Lastly, need to come a full stop a nuumber of times and let the engine settle at idle. This covers a reset and re-learn of the ECU

To set the base idle: get engine to operating temperature and while at idle, disconnect the ISCV. Engine should still idle but around 650 to 700 rpm. If it does, re-connect ISCV, allow engine to settle at idle without revving and then turn off ignition.

If engine does not tickover with ISCV disconnected, locate idle adjust screw (found at 9 o'clock in the recess in the face of the throttle body where the air inlet pipe joins the throttle body) and turn it clockwise until it lightly seats and then back it out 3 complete turns. Re-connect ISCV and then restart engine. Allow to settle at idle and then disconnect ISCV again. If engine does not idle, turn idle screw 1 turn anti clockwise and re-connect ISCV. Restart engine and repeat process as necessary until such time the engine will idle at 650 to 700 rpm with the ISCV disconnected. Once this base idle is achieved, re-connect ISCV while engine is still running. Idle may surge initially.............allow to settle on its own..do not rev. Once idle has settled, turn off engine.

After the base idle has been set, the CO will need to be checked and set using a CO meter. Set at around 1.5% with the fan running. After CO has been set, do base idle check again following the above procedure and adjust as necessary

If base idle and CO are correct, when the engine is revved to around 3,000 rpm and the throttle let go, the rev counter needle should drop straight away to 1800 rpm, pause ever so slightly then drop to 1300 rpm and then slowly drop to idle of 950 rpm. If the needle "hangs" at 3,000 rpm when throttle is released then base idle is set too high. If rev counter needle drops like a stone to below idle and then creeps back up to idle, the base idle is set too low.

    Hope this helps.

  6. I have recently changed a coil pack on a 'M' plate 1600 zetec escort with an coil pack from my 'H' plate EFi MK4 cabby. So you might be lucky to get a coil pack from a earlier model which may be a bit cheaper.
