  1. Cheers Ollie, Planning some changes for old Bluey for the Bromley Pageant... if all goes to plan
  2. Sadly no... apart from a couple of mine (not vain much.lol There wasn't many Cabbys there apparently, but Tee on here took some pics, I'll ask him to upload them.
  3. I was representing the Cabby Club at the Deal classic car show on Sunday (is actually a really good show) and a young kid and his dad came to talk to me about Bluey and we were discussing the roof on their cabby that they are currently restoring together (father & son team - gotta love it) We got chatting about parts and advice and how eBay is turning everything so expensive and I told them to sign up and join this club... as not only are there plenty of members on here willing to give free and useful advice, but members also sometimes have spare parts that are hard to find or silly money on eBay. I really hope that they have/do sign up... they seemed really interested in what I had to say, and both seemed keen to get their own cabby back on the road and cruising again... and let's be honest, another saved cabby is what we all want to see!! If you did join, and you're reading this... I'm the guy who had 'Bluey' at the show... hope you were able to test the roof and see if the frame is bent. Dave
  4. This is the one I've been waiting for.... come pay day I'm getting my ticket.... Now I've just got to make Bluey show-worthy!
  5. If I'm driving yours I can't drive mine... as long as you help me get mine finished
  6. Give your keys to Kim Rob, she'll drive it for ya!
  7. Said that without even moving my lips lol
  8. If old Bluey is not in parts, and if it doesn't clash with holiday I'd be tempted - will have to look more into it in the new year.
  9. No problem Lee... Sorry to hear you're having to reluctantly sell her... make sure you set your lowest price and stick to it... if it's stored correctly (out of rain and hand brake off for a start) it won't actually lose money, or barely any... the MK4's are becoming rarer, especially limited edition ones... So don't take no bull s**t from some eBay expert trying to knock you (and they will) stick to your guns on the price you realistically want for it someone will buy it... Good luck... hope you get a chance to own one again in the future.
  10. Price all depends on if it's a runner or not... usually T&T won't bother too many people who are after this sort of car as long as they can see it running and give it a once over... eBay is always an option, there are always plenty on there with a reserve price so the seller gets what they want for it... it's also a good place to look at prices and gauge what it could be worth against others on there.
  11. I'm already scouring eBay looking for parts to try and tidy up Bluey for the shows next year... looking forward to them!
  12. I'm hoping to get there early too, try and beat the traffic and give me some time to throw a sponge at Bluey before the show starts... we can arrive from 9am right??
  13. My first Cario club show, really looking forward to it... fingers crossed the rain stays away as old Bluey leaks in the rain :-( Oh, and I'm guessing that there is access to an outside tap or something so we can clean the bugs off the front when we arrive??
  14. I don't think any MK3 cabbies came with body kits... and if I'm right (correct me if I'm wrong) but the only differences between a 1.6i and an XR3i were either steels or alloy wheels and possibly over riders... and really early MK3's wouldn't have been injection anyway I think. So if you want to get it back to original, lose the bodykit and decals and fit cloverleafs to it... that's about as far as my knowledge goes, and I could be wrong.
  15. There wasn't many MK1 or MK2 Escorts there... the Dutch seem to love the Focus and new Fiesta's more than anything else.... It was a great weekend, although I think the convoy through 4 countries with my mates, all in retro Fords, was the most fun!
  16. Here's just a few photos from the European Ford Event held in Holland at the weekend... including a convertible with a roof box!??!?! Love the colour of this 1600i My Bluey, flying the flag for the Cabriolet Club Mine again Escort Cabby with a roof box!!
  17. The Holland show is the EFE being held at Venray Raceway in Holland (near Eindhoven) club stands, individual cars, track use, autojumble... Entrance tickets can be bought on the door, but if you want to show your car you need to book it & pay in advance (www.europeanfordevent.nl) I will upload photos from it when I get back - fingers crossed for good weather!!
  18. Is anyone going to the European Ford Event in Holland?? I'm going with a few friends (will be on Ford Enthausiasts stand) but will come and find you to say hello if you're going... Also, who's booked on the club stand for Motorbilia in Battlesbridge at the end of the month? My first club stand show... really looking forward to both of these before poor old Bluey gets tucked up in the garage ready for winter and a bit of tinkering and tidying up.
  19. After helping me get my Bluey running my mate has caught the Escort bug and is now after a MK3 cabriolet for himself. He is looking for a project/non-runner, but ideally not rot-ridden and able to bring back to life. We're keeping our eyes open on eBay and Gumtree, but if anyone on here knows of one or hears of something that needs some tlc, please let me know. Thanks Dave
  20. Have you ever done any welding before?? If not then well done, impressive... look forward to the photos
  21. I'd like to fit them without showing the fixings, but as their only show plates I've got to take them off before driving it... But I agree, stuck on plates look better. Maido, ideally I wanted a grey or black roof cover so it all matches... But if I struggle to find one ill give you a shout. Thanks guys, great to get feedback and help!!
  22. My show plates arrived today... think they look great and cant wait to put them on ole Bluey at the Euro Ford event in Holland.... So now all I have to do is: 1) Find a blue backing for the wing mirror (some guy on eBay played me about) 2) Test the stereo Ollie sorted out for me (will sort out the cash for you if it works Ollie) 3) Fix the back seat and replace the missing screw that holds the bench down 4) Give the girl a good run to make sure that she can handle the 400 mile round-trip without overheating or dying on me 5) Find a Torneau cover for the roof when it's down (was supposed to be getting one from a mate but it's not materialised yet) Long list, and only a couple of weeks to sort this out... I better hurry up! Anyway, here's the plate :-)
  23. Sorry mate, thought I had replied to this already.... That's a bit too steep price-wise for me... got a lot more items that I need to get so money is having to be spread thinly to cover everything.... but thanks for the link though.
