Thre are a linitted number of mk4 escorts with power steering, it was offered on disabilty cars..but never on cabbys,
Its also a common thing to find on mk4 rally cars..it can be done..as its just a belt n pully system..
-
I have turned up a better set of door rub strips and was wondering whats the best thing to use to hold them on...
-
might look into it..as i dont really want to detract from the cars originality in terms of mods
-
Despite the early mk4 ghias comming well equiped as standard, there still some additions to be made.
Ive noticed that a few of of our european counterparts, have headlamp washers fitted into the front bumper.
Does anyone know if this option was offered on uk escorts(mk4).and to what models if they were

Well ive been hunting for some info..and it appears, that the early mk4 ghias ran on a lattice type style, which where shared with the Orion Ghias..so now i gotta hunt a set down lol
-
seems i have a choice
Either steels with wheel trims.
Cloverleaf alloys
Cossie style latice ones
or stick with what ive got lol
-
hi
chris
please don't play around with it
they are getting very rare now days
I dont wanna stick any other aftermarket rims on..I carnt find a pick of a standard ghia anywhere, to see if there the right one..if not, then standard ghia ones will be going on
-
At the weekend, i picked up a mint mk4, tis an 1,6 Ghia on a D plate (87), its near standard bar a few bits n pieces but nowt major.
But i was wondering what wheels the car should have on..at present its on 3i dogleg alloys, but i beleive the early ghia models had steels n wheel trims.
Anyone got any ideas or am i barking up the wrong tree as normal
-
ah thats not too bad then...i knew it wasnt cheap and guessed at around 1k so my budget should be enough then.
thanks dave
Plesure :big_wave:

could anyone give me a rough idea of respray costs
my car has a few rust spots but a friend who works in a bodyshop is prepared to prep the car for me,however his boss says they are too busy to allow him to do me a respray on the cheap.
i was just wondering what kind of price id be looking at ,and wether or not they charge more for a colour change...dont want to get ripped off when i go looking for quotes.
cheers dave
One word exspensive, a decent respray costs around £850 too £1100, and thats for a non mettalic finish, a full bare metal strip down job whould be closer to 1500

lol and that are slipry as oops ,,,no good for fast conering
