hi and welcome to the club.
so to start open the tap on the side of the pump and make sure the roof will open and shut ok manually.
then shut the tap and see if it works there could be an electrical problem or the pump could be damaged and in need of repair if it still dosn't work.
yes this is normal the water does drain down that way and pass through a hole at the bottom and on to the floor if its blocked it'll overflow into the rear footwell.
this is a common problem on mk5's there is a water way behind the rear window panels the water from the hood runs that way if you remove the panel and use a coathanger you can clear it, just follow the rear wheel arch to the bottom i'm not 100% sure where the drain hole is but i've seen it done on a couple of cabs.
yes my local red star garage have one of these and its put it back to spot on i just need to find which mount is now worn and eveything will be perfect many thanks to everyone that has helped with this issue.
i did have it done on a four wheel tracking system the one with the laser alignment maybe i should go back and try it again, is that the same system as you used? i have now changed the track rod ends to find it made no change but you descirbe my problem to a tee.
right
now i'm normally pretty good with the spanner but this one has me stumped i noticed on my pre-mot check that 1 of the wishbones was cream crackered so decided to replace both i ordered them from the internet and swoped them over i also replaced a rear wheel bearing and rear spring at the same time.
it went through the mot with out a problem but when you drive it the steering is so light and feels like your driving on ice and when you corner it wants to pull you into the corner and feels like your not in control.
i thought it might be the new wishbones that might not be right so i went to my local factors and gave them my reg and brought a set of fia wishbones and they made no difference i have also had the tracking done and this also made no difference .
so anyone got any ideas ?????????
i'm really scratching my head on this...
hi john
i think old to new is best, but the problem you have is you won't know till we get there what sort of room you'll have on the stand as in the shape of the area.
i have a c reg mk4 in white i also think you should try to break up the colours as best as possible.
