  1. The inlet manifold bolted on the back of the engine shows Efi stamped in big letters on the front, and also mfi will have a distributor cap on the right hand side of the engine, efi has a coil pack instead. Have you got a Haynes mk4 manual ,it’s like a bible for cars and shows you lots of close ups of parts, well worth buying one. We alll had to start somewhere as you are doing now.
  2. Am surprised, all tennis cars I have seen are mfi, they seem to be registered between July and December 1989
  3. Have you asked at a parts dept in ford dealers ?
  4. Check all hoses around throttle body for leaks or tears
  5. Just bought my third cab, hope it looks as good as yours when finished.
  6. Welcome, good to see another one saved. Top work.
  7. Try rs turbo breakers in Bournemouth , they sell replacement body panels, unsure if they do mk6, but give Ian a call.
  8. One on eBay for £4250, needs finishing tho
  9. Nice collection, not many of them around, if one comes up for sale I would guess would still be running standard engine, expect to pay around 7 k
  10. Collected a couple of rear arch repair panels over the weekend, hope to start work soon.
  11. Down to you, original factory spec cars worth more money, but its your car and you want it the way you want it.
  12. Looks, half modded already, I have just bought another and gonna modify it, saying that I do have nice original tennis I owned for sixteen years.
  13. I have had problems with earths to car body, worth checking ?
  14. Steve I have have a tennis , but feel helpless as I have not had these problems, but I will ask ask a old school ford mechanic tomorrow to see if he knows anything.
  15. Thanks den,still ordering a few panels m8.
  16. I have been trying to buy all new front end suspension and joints ,that’s interesting you had to source from Germany . ( mk4 escort rs turbo)
  17. Yea agree m8, and your colour, but I think white suites the body kit better
  18. Yea, I guess it’s got broken over the years, don’t mind it as is it to be honest, got a bit of work ahead but should be worth it.
  19. It looks better in the pictures than it actually is, quite a bit of welding required around arches and sills. Plan is to fit my replacement turbo engine in after all bodywork and underside works are done.
  20. A little work needed underneath on seals and such, but a beauty. Will keep posted.

    Guide price

Wow, that’s difficult if it was for sale at at classic car dealer they would probabally Mark it up at £15,000 plus, saying that they would not offer you that amount. It may be worth asking a couple of dealers what they would give you for such a low mileage and excellent condition car, then make your own mind up. Good luck.
  22. Am sorry to hare about your car. How much agreed value did you have on the car, most people now insure them for 4-10 thousand pounds because of this happening. I had a bump in mine and did not declare and paid for the repair myself, this way it had no cat c or d on the v5 if ever I wanted to sell. If the car is as good as you say you may be better off repairing it as it will only go up in value.
  23. Nice one , put some pictures on of restoration
