My escort was sitting for a year before i brought it and the previous owner said that the pump was over filled at some point and the plastic cap at the front broke off, i took it apart and put the seal on correctly and the plastic cap with level the right way LOL - then filled up with the correct oil, the pump worked slowly to start with, i left the filler cap off while i kept putting the roof up and down to get rid of the air bubbles then the pump got quieter and worked great.   Then an hour
