Steel Con Rods

Hi All

 

Im half way through doing a 2.1 zvh, i have acralite forged pistons but i need the steel conrods, now ive seen them advertised on ebay but they are about £350-£400 ive seen them on the american ebay site for $300 plus $50 for delivery this would save me a lot of money.

 

now heres my problem there are to different types on burton power site ones pre 98 the other 98 on and 2 diff sizes

 

i dont know what year my engine was so i need to find out so that i can get the right size rods so how can i tell??

 

also is there a difference between a 2.0ltr uk zetec and the 2.0ltr american zetec both mondeo or focus

Best is to buy the rods and pistons from the same place. Also depends on the which pistons your using. i.e. oversize zetec one 85.5mm or 86mm. Or are you using the Vaux XEL version which has different size for the small end. Also you need to know if your crank has been reground etc.

some of the pistons off ebay are just skimmed standard pistons so be carefull of what you buy i had to send some back and get a refund and the pistons and rods from burton power are alright but only for mod power and if you ask the spec on them they dont really no and if you tell them you want to put 800 bhp up them then they just say it cant be done on that engine and give you a load of shit so there prob crap anyway. ive just ordered some from je to take upto 800bhp rods and pistons and they have cost 1300 so you get what you pay for so if your after big power buy some off someone proper that makes them and they will make them to your spec
