Engine Mfi Swap

hi i looking for some help or more like information really i have a mfi rs turbo engine in my cabby and tonight i took it out for the first time this year after about 5 miles developed a problem it dropped down to 3 cylinders and lots of blueish smoke i seem to lost compression in that bore i have a spare engine but its efi not mfi can i just swap them over ?????

Before going to the trouble of a whole engine swap, try to find exactly why you lost that cylinder. have you done an actual compression test? if not that's the first thing & post up results.

 

Also, if you have any low readings on the first test, drop about a teaspoon full of oil down the plug hole and test again (wet test). if things improve significantly then it points to rings/bores.

 

If the car has stood for a while or missed a service it could be as simple as a sticky valve/lifter or piston ring (or maybe even oil from stem seals fouling up a spark plug), a lot of easier and quicker things to sort than swapping the engine :wink: anyway first things first, let's have a butchers at your dry & wet comp test results please :smile:
