Hi Guys

I'm now the proud owner of my second Mk3 Cabriolet in my lifetime I'm changing the oil in it tomorrow and just have a couple of questions as this one is 30yrs old and my original was only 5 so I didn't have these issues with it.

1 - Is it safe to use an Oil Flush before changing the oil? I've read that it may cause more problems than solve. The engine I believe has had the head completely reckoned I.e. chemical clean, skimmed, new lifters and valves but I'm not 100% sure of this

2 - The original oil was 5w30 but I've read it's better to put 10w40 in due to the age of engine. Is this right?

The reg on the car is C600GWC if anyone has any info on its history it would appreciated.

It's nice to be back, I was one of the founding members of this club way before Internet forums and websites, we did everything by post. God I feel old now!

Thanks for your help

Shaun
