Guest Aaron James Sadler
Hi All, My escort just will not pass the mot on the handbrake, at the last mot it recorded only 8% efficiency, this is is with a new rear handbrake cable, new shoes and fixtures, and wire brushed / sanded drums. Its adjusted to 4-5 clicks and rubs when the wheel is turned, i am lost of what to do next... any ideas guys?
Guest Lee81
Most likly scenario is the rear drums have been assembled wrong or the drum/lining are contaminated with brake fluid. My bet is on brake fluid.

Vincygav
Is it grabbing on both wheels properly. Are you sure the cable is adjusted properly.

Guest Aaron James Sadler
i got it through in the end by putting the drums and shoes off of my donor cab, as they were bedded in... now it holds beautifully!
