Mk5 Electrical Issues

Hi guys,

The restoration to my mk5 is almost complete I stripped the interior out and decided when I had it all out I would put in a mk6 dash.

I ended up following the post by another member on here for the wiring guide to the instrument cluster. Now that I have put everything back together I have found that the rev counter doesn't work, the indicators don't work, the time clock doesn't work but when I have the side lights off the clock lights up, the heater control panel lights work, the front and rear heated window switches both work, the front fog light switch works but the rear fog light switch doesn't, the horn doesn't work either.

Any ideas as to what might be the cause or causes?

I have checked and replaced all the fuses so I'm at a loss as to what the problem(s) are!

Thought I would check with you guys before I try to find an auto electrician to help.

Cheers Roy

I had a similar problem with mine when I swapped my dash for a better condition mk5 one,

It turned out that I hadnt pushed the harness connector in properly at the fusebox.

May not be the same cause but you never know.
