Guest Lee81
This is normal on engines with higher mileage/ more wear. It's low oil pressure hence the switch is triggering the light. First thing to check is rpm. With everything electrical on it should be around 950 rpm with engine fully warm. With that done if it still does it only at idle it's not a major problem. But be aware you'll be looking at a rebuild in the future as it gets worse.
Guest Lee81
On another note to aid you. On modified / worn engines a switch to 15w 50w fully synthetic oil works wonders on the cvh engine. Something like fucks Titan pro r or pro s is the best. The thicker grade helps raise oil pressure as well as being a better oil than most on the market. Guest Mk4 Kenilworth
Sounds like you may have a dodgy/loose earth that is causing the light to flicker, My car drops a few rpm when the electric fan kicks in too, thought this was normal as the fan is drawing quite a bit of current away from the electric sytem. Soon settles thou,
