i have a problem with my oil light that keeps flikering on when my radiator fan kicks in or i turn my headlights on ,heater etc ,anything electrical basicley i thought i might of been the alternator and bettery so i have replaced that and its still doing it but only does it on idel.

what i did notice is the engine revs drop slightly when eather is on what would cause this?

any ideas would be great as its starting to annoy me!

This is normal on engines with higher mileage/ more wear. It's low oil pressure hence the switch is triggering the light. First thing to check is rpm. With everything electrical on it should be around 950 rpm with engine fully warm. With that done if it still does it only at idle it's not a major problem. But be aware you'll be looking at a rebuild in the future as it gets worse.

On another note to aid you. On modified / worn engines a switch to 15w 50w fully synthetic oil works wonders on the cvh engine. Something like fucks Titan pro r or pro s is the best. The thicker grade helps raise oil pressure as well as being a better oil than most on the market.

Sounds like you may have a dodgy/loose earth that is causing the light to flicker,

My car drops a few rpm when the electric fan kicks in too, thought this was normal as the fan is drawing quite a bit of current away from the electric sytem. Soon settles thou,
