Guest Brundish Posted March 2, 2013 Share Posted March 2, 2013 right hi everyone got a problem with my mk4 86 cab central locking when i bought the car the central locking was not working so when go and have a look the connecting cable from door to door is missing ive been trying to make one myself but when i connect it all together they just keep locking and unlocking its got a direct +ve feed to the red/yellow wire witch they are then connected to each doors red wire then the white wires are joined and the yellow are joined browns joined inline with windows i think any help please. Guest Lee81 Posted March 3, 2013 Share Posted March 3, 2013 The lock itself is to blame when they stick or fail this is what can happen. When its in the process of locking and unlocking check each lock in turn to identify the one thats not working. Correctly working ones will move the lock inside the door handles. If they both move in both directions then wk40 on the lock folowed by white grease may sort it. And remember this is the catch plate lock. The key lock can cause a similar problem but it will stop if you lock the car using the passenger door key lock if you have been using the drivers one and getting the problem Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
