Guest mac
i have a problems with my rev counter on my escort mk4 rs turbo mfi ,a few years ago i done a turbo convision on it from a xr3i mfi to a rs turbo mfi and ever since the rev counter wont give an accurate reading it seems to be responding to quickly i only have to rev the car slightly and the dial will wizz up to 4-5000 rpm any harder on the accelerator and i can pritty much make it do a full circle!! i thought it may have been a faulty dial so i changed the clocks for rs ones and its still doing the same. any ideas on what would cause this.? thanks chris. Guest El87cabi
sound like you did some sort of damage to the wiring or the speed sensor when u did the conversion, as you've already tried spare dials i'd get in there and start wiggling those cables, i assume there was no fault before you changed the lump? Guest mac
No their was nothing wrong with it when i had the old engine in it ,its just abit strange that it's over reacting ,it's fine on idle its just when its driven or reved up that it goes loopy! iv have followed the wires back (2x green) and they go up to a resister (looks like a resiter not 100% sure) and from their one of the wires goes to the coil could it possibly be that resistor thats causing the problem?
