Guest mjshelley Posted July 25, 2012 Share Posted July 25, 2012 HI All My MK5B has been causing me some problems,it failed the MOT last year so i took it off the road to have some welding done and to rebuild the rear brakes. one of the areas it failed on was the dreaded emmissions test. previous to the mot i thought that the ECT was beroken so replaced it, then a mate who thought he knew what he was doing did something and there was a spark from somwhere in the engine bay (not sure where). Now when I fault test the car i get code 116 ect out of range and 121 tps out of range. I have reverted back to the old ect and this code goes, but I have tried 3 different TPS modules that are all known to work and the car starts, runs at high idle then stalls after about 5 minutes. If the TPS is disconnected the car starts and runs fine, but the mixture is wrong so it burns more fuel and will fail the emmissions. PLEASE HELP I dont know what to look at next, I have no air leaks that I can find and no other codes are coming up. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
