Guest Gokey
Hi Folks. When the engines cold, My MK5 starts. As the engines gets hotter, it develops a misfire. When up to full running temp and i stop the engine. It just turns over and wont fire. RAC couldn't fix it either but showed me that if i run a wire from the coil and go direct to the positive on the battery, she starts! Took her into a garage the other day who removed an after market immobilizer and did a re wire. Same fault once the engine got hot. Thanks for taking the time to read my issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... and yes, its back in the garage Friday.. A very frustrated Cabby owner...
Guest Lee81
I'd check the power supply to the coil pack and trace the wiring back. However all the symtoms your listing are common of a coil pack on the way out. So your already aware of where the problem is. Failing that hot starting issues can often be caused by engine temperature sensors failing. This can sometimes lead to overfueling which has similar characteristics to a misfire
