Guest Willey1802
Hi all, I need to replenish my power roof fluid, but don't want to pay some £25 - £30 for Ford's fluid when i have been told that you can use power steering fluid. Does anyone know if this is correct and if so what grade of fluid to use, as apparently there are 2 grades. Any advice appreciated

Guest Mejojo
Best to use proper roof stuff or hydraulic jack mineral fluid. Some power steering fluids can be corrosive to the plastic reservoir and over time create cracks and leaks. The reservoirs are a bitch to find on their own so you have to buy a full pump just for that part. VW do a fluid for their convertibles. Can be bought from VW dealers and it's cheaper than fords. If the pas stuff is natural then it should be ok but check the label.
