Guest J.E.E.P.
Can anyone tell me if you can change the valve stem seals on a 1.6 16v EFI engine without removing the head? Eg By using compressed air to pressurise cylinder to hold the valves in place. Cheers. Edited April 4, 2012 by J.E.E.P.
ianxr3i
You can change the valve oil stem seals without removing the head, I have done loads of them but I have never heard of using compressed air to keep valves in place. Whereabouts are you? If your close enough I could give you a hand or do them for you
Guest J.E.E.P.
Hi Ian, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately Im in South Wales so a bit far for a hand Im afraid! Im an engineer by trade so not afraid of doing it myself. Just need a few pointers as to which way to go about it. (Valve spring removal etc).
