Roof Wiring

Someone tried to steal my cabby they pulled all the cables out from the ignition, and doing so my roof will no longer open there is a yellow cable that has been pulled out but i don't know where from, Can anyone advise?

Hello Craig. I don't know if this information is of use to you, but, the wiring that runs under both seats to the airbag controls & pretensioners, is yellow. If someone has ripped these out from behind the dash, it may compound your problem. Alongside the accelerator, there is aside kick panel. Remove this panel, and follow the yellow wiring up to the dash, and see if anything has come apart. If it looks like someone has gone under the seats, try and lift the carpet, or see if you have continuity, from behind the panel, by the accelerator, across and under the seat where you should be able to see the yellow plugs that pull apart. If you need information like this, it is always best to let everyone know which year/type/model Escort you have. The info I have given you is for a MkVIor MkVII 1997, same as mine, but it might be totally irrelevent, when applied to your motor.

Thanx for the reply, i have an 89 mk4 the yellow cable has been pulled from the connector as the black connector is still on the end of the yellow cable they pulled out but i cant see where it connects to on the ignition loom
