Guest Mejojo
Hi all Has anyone got a working mk 6 roof switch I could buy. I think mine's dead. Motor n pump seem to be alright. Was temperamental but now got no electrics noise. Also does the roof have a different fuse to the window switch. That's still working fine. Any help please. Guest Cooderkey
Hi, I have a ' P ' Reg., May 1997 Cabriolet. Sometimes called a Mk6 Sometimes a MkVII, but I can never get my head around which is which. Anyways, by the byes, there is a switch on eBay which is advertised for a Mk4/5/6 and 7., and the seller is asking £19.99 for it. It looks NOTHING AT ALL LIKE THE UP/DOWN ROOF SWITCH ON MY CAR, so be very careful before giving away your ill gotten gains ! ! I have just removed the switch on my Cabriolet to check the part number on the switch for you. The number on the switch reads as follows: - V 95 B L15668AA Other numbers showing stamped on the switch include, 03 - 1616 00 42936. I am reasonably sure the V 95 B L15668AA is the genuine part number. I would sit back and keep an eye on eBay or phone a breakers yard. A company I have used previously, who were extremely helpful, are situated in Bournemouth. They are called Turbobreakers, and they bend backwards to help. Their landline is :- 01202 547070. Their email is:- info@rsturbos.com They are not open on Sundays Please let me know how you get on with this. Best Regards, Burt. ( In beautiful North Wales ). allblue
Hi Roof and windows operate on a seperate circut and have differneent fuses. Are you deffo sure it is the switch?
Guest Mejojo
Thankyou for the info. I've seen the one in eBay but as you say it's not the one we have. Think its from an older cab. Cheers for the part numbers too. Will save me taking the centre console out just to look for it. We have a local ford dealer( down the street very local) but will contact breakers first. I will certainly keep you posted. We keep getting hints of sunshine n I wanna play in me nice convertible. If it ain't the switch what's wrong then I have a spare roof motor to try. Thanks again Jojo
Guest Mejojo
Hey all blooooo. How ya doing? I'm not 100% it is the switch. Just gathering info to try stuff. I'm gonna check the fuse first. Not sure which one it is. If you or anyone knows that'd be well useful. Want to try the simpler stuff before changing the motor. Got any ideas.? Guest Cooderkey
If you remove the lining in the boot at the left hand rear, you will expose the pump motor, and the electric antennae for the radio system. You will probably see two fuses in the looms, so just trace the one that goes to the pump motor. It is a while since I did this, but I'm pretty sure that the info. which I'm giving you is correct. There is also, I believe, a grey relay in the system somewhere, but I didn't have to go this far. Just to confirm and reiterate the message from Allblue., I made the same mistake of looking at the WINDOWS and SUNROOF at the same time. In fact, of course, there is NO SUNROOF on the Cabriolet, and the reference to Fuse Number 18, 30amp fuse, should be disregarded when looking for Power Roof information. I hope this helps. Burt. Guest Mejojo
I can't find the power roof fuse. I looked round the roof motor n there's 2 green relay boxes n a grey one. Any ideas please?
