Guest Gary Parker
Hi, Just got a 1.8SI cabriolet N reg 96, swap for battered old corsa with MOT and 200 quid, car is in good nick body wise inside and out, but major problem with the roof. When i was getting it i knew there was a prob with the roof. When i unlock the roof then press the button, there is nothing, no motor sound. I think fuse is the same as eleci mirrors and they're working OK. Is this just likely to be the switch or relay or is the motor going a common problem? Tried gently to push the roof back manually but only goes back about a foot(until the back window is nearly lieing down, then can't move it anymore at all!! So closed up again now. Is there a manual over ride for the electric roof? I am just about to go and get a good condition whole roof from a scrappy that i've found, obviously this wont solve the problem though!! How hard is changing the roof, mates a mechanic who i'm doing it with. If there is no noise from the motor when i press the open switch is the whole opening mechanism likely to be siezed? Really hope it's something easy but doubt it!! Thanks Gaz
Guest Cooderkey
If you are renewing the roof, there's a bloke in the Forum, who has written a very good step by step guide on how to do it. Best of luvk with that. Whereabouts in the UK are you situated? Cheers, Burt.
