Guest tbirdbooboo
hi all newbie here , just got me a B reg cab in really good condition ( will get pics up eventually ) anyway when i was younger i had a mk3 3door estate with rs1600i interior so obviously now i want to do the same. at the moment i think its got the original rear seat as its got the poppers on the top for the hood cover and in the front it has horrible s2 turbo seats - sorry i just dont like em much lol. million dollar question though - am i stuck with the original rear bench as its got the poppers and has a destinctive shape to the upper bit as it goes in where the speaker pods are. would hate to spend oodles on rs1600i interior to find only half of it fits lol also what rear door cards will fit - any 3 door or are the cabriolets different? been looking at random recaro seats online and theres all sorts out there but not sure what would fit , i know for the front its usually just a matter of sorting out the runners but dont want to get some that are too big ,things like mk5 escort front seats etc are phisically wider so not too sure yet, - whats been done , what doesnt work etc etc cheers all :-)
Guest Alanman
There's loads of options really. You could simply have the S2 seats and the rear bench recovered in basically anything. Leather, suade, cloth? The next alternative is to get some aftermarket seats, cobra, corbeau or FK do a range of faux leather seats in various colours and shapes and are less than £200 a pair off ebay. Then simply get the rear seat covered to match. I would say FK would be able to supply the leather on the roll maybe. If money is no option Cobra can recover the rear benches to match their fronts but I cant remember how much. I think your a little stuck with the cab rear cards, they're different to the tiptop ones. Guest kelvinMK3
yeah get the recaros retrimmed in a colour/style of your choice with rear to match. The recaros are much more comfortable than any other seat (wing backs second). Ive just done the same (c plate), i think i'll be flocking the rear cards/front cards and getting the dash flocked to match my seats. Its to much work to get the dash repaired and watching it crack, my flocking man tells me it should last longer than filler.
