Guest RobD
Hi All, Have recently had new valve guides, 3 new valves, piston rings etc done on my MK4 mfi. Have been running for a little while and am going to change the oil this weekend just in case any crap that wasn't removed properly has dislodged and is floating around. I have been recommended to use Castrol 10W/40 Magnatec part synthetic. I was just wondering what other Cab owners use and what they recommend and why? Thanks, Rob. Guest s6boy1979
10W/40 is fine or 5W/40 which a lot of people recommend now
Guest Lee81
If the engine is new then 10w/40 is good. I use Fuchs Silkolene Pro S (been renamed Titan race)15w/50 as if the engine has some wear this will help to raise oil pressure. It also stops gaskets leaking as much. I've used this for many years now in cvh and they hardly use any oil with this in them. Used it in engines that have seen better days and they just seem to go on running also. Lots of people say fuchs is a cheap economy oil but at aroun £40 for 5L it aint cheap. I think it better than any other oil out there for the cvh engine. Especially it you like the thrash it lol
