Hi evryone, sorry if this question has been asked a thousand times before but i cant seem to find what im after searching the forums.

I currently own an mfi mk4 and would like to convert it to rs turbo spec. Nothing fancy just standard rs turbo engine. Hopefully there is someone here who could help me.

What i would like to know is exactly what is needed to build a complete turbo engine and what if anything i can use from the current engine. I would like to keep it running mfi. I would be very gratefull of any help or pointers in the right direction. I cant seem to find all the info i need on google!

Kind regards, Lewis

Hi Mate

You are better of buying a complete turbo engine as the xr engine has different pistons and no oil return. You can change the pistons for the low comp turbo one and put the oil return in the sump but is a bit of work. You will also need the turbo ECU, rad, intercooler, exhaust and a few pipes. It's not major work to do. I would also recommend changing the gear box for a turbo one as they have LSD fitted where as the xr dont

Like s6 boy says its not difficult but when i done mine years ago i brought a rotten s2 that was running ok then swapped the parts over, its prob easier than sourcing parts and afterwards you can sell the shell, interior, body kit everything thats left you dont want to cover the costs of the conv mate.

Hope this helps
