Guest Tuft Posted December 29, 2010 Share Posted December 29, 2010 My other half has a mk5 RS2000 and that was very noisy at the top. I changed the oil and filter and couldn't believe the difference. Just a second or so tapping at start up and then quiet as anything. The old oil was dark and nasty so I replaced it with a 5w30. The thinner oil gets to the top a lot quicker. Not a bad fix for the sake of 30quid. The 1.4 is CVH i think so uses hydraulic tappets (correct me if I'm wrong) so would benefit from an oil change.
