All the capitals and the text speak dosnt make for easy reading. Anyway with regaurds to your question - I am planning to fit a RS2000 engine and box into my mk5A cabbie over the next few weeks so I will detail my progress for others as I progress. Guest jasondd78
hi i take it thats the cvh engine you've got in yours you can bolt the 1.6 cvh straight in but use your own manifolds inlet and exhaust also need the fly wheel from your 1.4 as that will have the crank sensor contacts on, if you want the zetec engine you will need the air intake manifold gear box and wireing loom and ecu aswell as the exhaust so the easyest one to go for is the 1.6 cvh if you source one from a mk4 some of them dont have the hole for the crank sensor the one down the front as your looking at the engine by the down pipe towards the fly wheel you should see this sensor its got a 2 wire plug on it, also note aswell if you do used a mk4 when you remove your engine you will need the blanking plate for when you take the dizzy of a mk4 engine
Guest jasondd78
forgot to mention they also did a 1.8 cvh in the seirra but you might need the 1.6 cvh gear box the gear box out of a mk3 escort is they are same mountings as the mk5
Guest Lee81
Best off opting for the 1.8 zetec. Buy the whole car like a escort si and just transfer all the bits over. Ones with bodywork damage or rust which affects them badly can be had for around a £100. Being as the MK5 is so cheap though the best option is to sell and buy a 1.8 cabby. No work to do then. I've seen decent low miles ones go for £800. All depends on the condition of yours and how attached you are lol.
Guest corrie
the 1.8 cvh from the sierra wont fit as the block was slightly different and the holes for the gearbox will not fit a 1.6 gearbox as the gearbox bell housing was totally different for the rear wheel drive sierra. so its either a 1.6cvh or a major job of the zetec.
