Guest mk4stu Posted October 4, 2010 Share Posted October 4, 2010 Hey all was on look out for s2 or fiesta turbo engine for my mk4, a s1 engine and loom and come up near me, was wondering what the difference between s1 & s2 engine and loom is are they the same? Guest Lee81 Posted October 15, 2010 Share Posted October 15, 2010 not the same as later s2 is the answer. there are about four different ecu's the later you get the more revised they are to solve previous minor issues like hesitancy and improved economy. The later ones have a det sensor normally green on the inlet if I'm remembering right. if triggered it will retard the ignition. The early s2 and s1 never had this however the rest of the system is mostly the same. They might just have put the extra wiring in to ecu on a spare pin.
