Guest eve1973 Posted September 6, 2010 Share Posted September 6, 2010 Hi, I have a escort xr3i 1992 convertible, the front drivers side window started to come up at a funny angle, took door card off and noticed a bolt was missing, it was the small slider bolt, found it and put it in. Now the window goes up fine, but when it goes down it gets about 3" from bottom & stops the motor is still working and u can see the metal of the inside of the door move out near where the regulator is, ive checked the 2 retaining bolts for the regulator and they look fine. Paul Grainger Posted September 20, 2010 Share Posted September 20, 2010 You will need to check physicaly what is stopping it from coming right down, sometimes wires hanging down can get caught, also the slider that the bolt fell out of, could that of got screwed back on upside down? as thas could also do it. I would put it down as far as you can then feel around with your hand, but be very careful as window motors are very powerful and the regulator could act like a pair of scissors, keep your fingers out of the way!
