Not sure on location of roof switch on mk5 but would assume thats where it would be. You need the switch first.

Then make up loom with two switched double pole relays. You can get the live for the switch from the power window circuit. Then through the switch to the relay. Do this twice because you should have a hood up and hood down switch.

There used to be a diagram on here for the mk4 which is the same circuit you need to form.

You then need to get a live supply to the relay that will power the power roof motor. Needs to be 30amp. There may be a supply line in place already. You would need to look at a car with power roof or hanynes manaul and trace wires back. Alternativly you could use the supply from the rear heated screen as it would be rare that these would both be in use at the same time.

I think there's a whole wiring harness you need...

I agree, you would be best getting a proper loom for the electric roof, i dont think you will find the roof circuit in the haynes manual, because its not in mine, the switches in front of your handbrake are for the elec windows and one to the side of the handbrake would be for the electric roof.

I'm pretty sure my Mk5 XR3i never had the loom, so that's what I'm going off... I don't think Ford were as lazy back then either...

how many wires does the pump have going to it

i cant belive that it is any more than relays to alter the pos and neg feeds over ,as far as i am aware there are no pressure sensors or limit switches envolved

But i could be wrong

the amount of wires going to the pump will help

Pump has a silver cicuit cut out on it that cuts supply if current gets to high. Relays are from any motor accessory place. I will check mine to get the ring code for them.
