hi i have just got a xr3i spares or repares project

 

and was wondering what was missing from this

thanks also is that the temp switch under it ?

and is it normel for the rad fan to kik in as soon as you put the key in the ignition ?

That hole is for the lifting eye bolt so doesn't do much. As for the fan it sounds like it has been bridged, this is a bodge when the temp swith goes. Get a new temp switch which goes in the thermostate housing then trace the wires from either the temp switch or fan to find out where they have bridged it and unbridge it lol
