Guest r1pete Posted May 21, 2010 Share Posted May 21, 2010 Hi, has anyone ever replaced an Mtx gearbox on a 1.8 16v mk5 cabby looks a straightforward job but but have had a few people with mixed ideas about its removal proceedures and saying its a difficult job lots of parts to remove first, any ideas? already got the s/hand box to go in just wanted a few more opinions before start it. cheers Pete Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest georgeking Posted May 22, 2010 Share Posted May 22, 2010 done it there are two gearbox to engine bolts one on the front and one on the back that are hard to get to the one on the front is a proper nightmare your best bet is a 1/4 socket set for them e12 hex socket is needed for gearbox shift bar for links and two jacks will help have fun Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
