Guest tobys73
hi all got a prob with my cab not starting prob is the car has no spark, ive fitted new leads, plugs, rotor arm, coil, amplifier, but still no spark. ive checked all the connections to the coil etc and there is 12v at the dizy and coil and i fitted new earth straps to rule out a bad earth, the fuel pump is priming and i have fuel going to the metering head. does anyone have any idea what else i can be missing out is there any relays/fuses etc that could be to blame even though the coil etc has voltage is there anyone in the Lanarkshire area with a mfi escort/orion that would be willing to let me fit my Distributor to their car to test it or has anyone got a working one for sale that i could have, it is the brown capped bosch dizzy thats fitted to my car any advice is much needed thanks toby
Guest Lee81
Would suggest removing a plug. Keep it plugged in and earthed. Get someone to turn over engine while you look for a spark. Its not uncommon for new parts to not work. This will confirm its spark before you go into fueling issues which are vast. I have a realtivly new distributor which was brand new from ford. Only done 4000 miles. £60 which is alot less than the £110 it cost me a few years ago.
