Guest shaneb677
i have a mk4 cabby with rs turbo fiesta engine basicly the problem i am having is backfire not often just now and again. also if i start the car when cold its ok until after a few minutes it struggles. when driving it will stall at low revs if im at traffic lights or the junction waiting to pull out. i have cleaned the idle control valve but only the part with the elecrical plug piece on it if that makes sence i didnt clean the other part of it not sure if i should of.not made any diffrence im basicaly looking at worst scenario by replacing the map sensor witch has a sticker with the letters ofac on the label. the map sensor is on the floor in the car with lots of wires atached to it . is there anything i can do insteed of going to spend loads of money on another map sensor that i may or may not need . so if anyone can help out i will be greatfull cheers
Guest shaneb677
forgot to mention that there is a chip on the map sensor its blue like a mobile phone looking thing held on with black electrical tape
Admin Paul Posted February 1, 2010 Admin Share Posted February 1, 2010 The item on the floor with OFAC on it is the ECU not the map sensor. The Map sensor is located in the engine bay fastened to the heater box with a electrical plug and a vac lead on it. Paul
