Guest mossop1 Posted November 28, 2009 Share Posted November 28, 2009 i would go get youre local garage to check the timing with strobe light as sounds bit advanced to me and with leaded fuel nolonger being available the old cvh engines do pink if not slightly retarded on the timing. ianxr3i Posted November 29, 2009 Share Posted November 29, 2009 I would get your ignition timing checked. Does your car have a blue cap (Motorcraft) on the distributor or a red one (Bosch). If it has a blue cap, it might be the ignition module on the case of the distributor breaking down under load. When I worked in a ford main dealer in colchester, we changed the distributors over from motorcraft to bosch distributors because of this problem with the ignition modules.
