Guest Cabbytech
All the noises you heard when you turned the key were probably the relays etc all fighting for power from your battery, its possibly an earth problem you have, check the battery earth connection and also the earth to the carbody and engine. Put a voltage meter on the battery before starting the car and see what standing volts you get, an average is between 12.6v to 12.8v depending on weather conditions and usage for a charged battery, once the car is running, hold it at about 2500 rpm and put the meter on again and see if the voltage has increased, you should now be getting between 13.5v to 14.5v as an average, again this could vary slightly depending on the battery and alternator output, this is a quick test to show that the alternator is working
