Guest markeyboy
if it wont rev it may be a sign that the kat is breaking down, mine got so bad that it wouldnt rev past 2.5k

Guest DaveG79
Get your exhaust system checked out. My wifes had the same problem and it turned out that the back box had disintegrated inside and the bits were making theere way back up along th eexhaust pipe thus blocking it. Guest markeyboy
you can check the tps with a meter you should see a resistance that gradually increaces or decreace (cant remember) as the pot is turned, if its a smooth increace its usually ok if it jumps about then its usually knackered
Guest shaun
Hi mate before you try anything try dis-connecting cat from centre box as mine was the same wouldnt rev over 4000rpm and the baffle in back box had broken and blocked tail pipe so no gases could get out.I cut back box open and found all the silencer sound deadening had got wet and stuck over the tail pipe exit so it wouldnt push it out.... Does yours lose power going up hill so you have to change down into lower gear when you know it would norm go up there?? Hope this helps
Guest Johann
no it doesn`t lose power going up the hills it is like it weon`t rev more than 4,000 and that`s it even parked and when i fully depress the pedal still the same . regartding the silencer i have to check it out because i`m sure back box is stainless steel and only fitted year ago middle box i don`t have so basically from kat to the rear end it is new. now i am being told that it is because i don`t use the car. keep in mind that it has got only 20k on the clock from new true but i don`t beleive that. but i have to check out properly in 2 weeks time cause i`m working abroad at the moment. cheer to all the help guys
