I have an xr3i cab mk4 on a D reg 1986 only had it about a month, and the drivers side indecators go iratic when i press the brake pedal, and when i turn the lights on and press the brake the indecator stops all together, this only happens on the drivers side, i have checked all the bulbs and they are OK, so are the fuses, i have read some of the other posts and they mention an earth in the drivers foot well, would this be my problem, if so what am i looking for and what do i do when i find it. Every thing was OK up untill last week ,totally baffled. Can any one help.

Its deffo an earth problem, best thing to do is find the earth at the light unit itself and make a new earth connection to the car, i would make the new earth local to the lamp unit so it can easily be identified.

hope this helps.

sounds to me like poss, disco rear lights water creeps in from around the boot shut n corrodes the earths on the back lights, check all screws are tight n give em n run a wire brush over to loosen any build up

Hi all. Im having a simlar problem. Back lights out. Also dash lights out. All indicators ok. Is this likely to be an earth or a fuse. If a fuse does anyone know where the correct fuse box is?? Sorry for sounding stupid but only got this car yesterday and not familair with it yet.

Cheers for any help.
