Guest Cabbytech
The pins and retaining clips on the left are needed for a power roof, the ball joint type on the right are found on the manual roof, the smaller pin fits to the roof mechanism (upper) and the longer pin fits to the car (lower). Using bolts as an alternative is false economy as they will cause excessive wear due to the sloppy fit.
Guest Smiler
Hmm, another one. And still no mention of where you got the info from. I hope you're not trying to pass this off as your own. Prehaps anyone else reading this ought to look in the Tutorials section of this website.

Guest Smiler
And the other post about the simplified wiring diagram? I don't mind people using info from my site, that's what it's there for and I hope this is a genuine oversight. It's just I do feel it's not too much to ask for people to state where the info came from as I have put a lot of hard work and a lot of hours into the content of the site. Not to mention the fact that I have to pay for the hosting of it as it has no sponsorship or advertising.
Admin Paul Posted November 7, 2009 Admin Share Posted November 7, 2009 All this information is available in the tutorials section of the site, the write ups and images that have been used were all created by smiler over @ auto-tat.co.uk, he gave the club permission to use them on our site a while back. It might be that the images used here have been copied from the tutorials section of the site and cabbytech has just copied them in to a post to help a member. I’m sure no harm was meant Please feel free to visit smilers site as he has loads of useful information over there on projects he has carried out Paul
Guest Smiler
Cheers Paul, I hope this is the case and it is just an oversight. I have found people passing off my work as there own numerous times in the past and as you can imagine it can get very frustrating. I could always put the address of the site ghosted across the background of each image but that would just degrade the quality of the images on the site. If this is a genuine mistake then I hope cabbytech doesn't take offence, I'm sure he can see why I would get upset. Smiler.
Guest Cabbytech
Hi Smiler, that is exactly what has happened, i have no intention of trying to pass off other peoples work as my own, if it was my own work i would say so on my post. I was only trying to help Richie out in both cases, what i will do in future is anything like this i will just put up the relevant link and leave it at that, i can see where you are coming from and hope you accept my apologies, regards Tony. Guest Smiler
Hi Tony, thanks for that. Sorry for any fuss I have caused but as I have said, it wouldn't have been the first time someone was trying to lay claim to my work and as you can imagine it gets very frustrating. I really don't have a problem with people using bits from the site, all I ask is that you just put something like "taken from www.EscortUpgrades.co.uk" or "taken from www.Auto-TaT.co.uk" whenever you do. Glad it's now all sorted. Regards, Smiler. P.S. I like the old Harrier Escort on your site .
