anyone ever replaced/removed a window regulator from a mk5/6?

whats the best way to remove the window from the reg/rollers?

I've just done this on my spare door to sell the bits lol, its a bit of a pain tbh, you'l need some patience!

I'm not sure wether its easier with the window up or down, mine was down though as the door was off the car. Obviously remove the door card and the weatherproofing, then undo the 10mm bolts holding the regulator and motor from the door itself (theres 4 in total) and I think it helps to undo the two large philips screws from the top corner of the door (fixes to a bar that goes down the door with holes in it, was a bronze colour metal on mine), remove the two top seals to make life easier as well (one of them stays attached to the door at one end if its riveted on like mine was). Once all the bolts are undone, you want to lift the window up about half way, then theres one 10mm bolt holding the bottom of the window to the mechanism. Now everything should be free, but you will find the window to be tightly attached to the mechanism, so you'l have to do some careful persuading to remove the glass from the mech, once free, simply draw the window out of the door!

Hope this helps mate

Forgot to add, once the window is out, unplug the motor and make the X shape mechanism as flat as you can (you'l understand what I mean when you see it), then draw it out through the big hole in the door
